Fungal Dx 2024 is an amazing opportunity to learn how we can choose the best diagnostic test to detect a fungal infection, how to interpret the results, which antifungal is best to use for treatment (Currently available and novel antifungals under development), and how to choose the best platform in resource-rich and resource-limited clinical environments.
Eight scientific sessions in two days with world-renowned speakers will be a diverse and interactive learning experience. Each scientific session feature will start with a case study followed by discussion of critical algorithms/flowcharts that can be used for diagnosis and detection of fungal infections, useful for both clinical microbiology laboratories and physicians managing these infections in different clinical settings.
The topics include fungal nomenclature, epidemiology and global burden of fungal infections, direct microscopic examination of clinical samples, culture, cytology and histopathology, serology, antigen detection and point of care testing, molecular diagnostics, MALDI-TOF (Yeast vs. Mold), antifungal susceptibility testing (phenotypic and molecular assays to identify resistance), novel therapeutics, and infection-prevention of medically important fungi.
