**Target Audience**  

This interactive postgraduate workshop is designed for those looking to enhance their knowledge in Fungal Diagnostics, particularly in the area of Clinical Mycology, including:

FungalDx2024 presents a remarkable opportunity to learn how to select the most effective diagnostic tests for detecting fungal infections, interpret the results accurately, determine the best antifungal treatment options (including currently available and novel antifungals under development), and identify suitable diagnostic platforms in both resource-rich and resource-limited clinical settings.  

Eight scientific sessions over two days, featuring world-renowned speakers, will provide a diverse and interactive learning experience. Each session will begin with a case study, followed by discussions on essential algorithms and flowcharts for diagnosing and detecting fungal infections. These discussions will be beneficial for clinical microbiology laboratories as well as physicians managing these infections in varying clinical environments.  

The following topics will be covered: practical algorithms for fungal infection diagnosis and surveillance, fungal nomenclature, epidemiology and global burden of fungal infections, direct microscopic examination of clinical samples, culture, cytology and histopathology, serology, antigen detection and point-of-care testing, and molecular diagnostics techniques. We will also explore antifungal susceptibility testing, including phenotypic and molecular assays to identify resistance, novel therapeutics, and infection prevention for medically significant fungi.
